Our experience with Manu can be summed up in 1 word – ‘incredible’! We moved from Texas last year and had no idea about the bay area housing. We contacted Manu in July and she made us aware of good areas to look at. She understood our requirements and budget very well and set up our listings accordingly. We started looking for homes seriously in May’17 and felt that we would need someone who can really understand our situation and needs very quickly and can represent us in this tough buyer’s market in the Bay Area. We had a couple of recommendations from our friends but we sort of knew the pros and cons of those realtors as had been told to us by our friends. So we thought let’s give another realtor a chance for once otherwise we always had a backup option to resort to. We met Manu and our first meeting was very productive. Me and my wife are very detail oriented and we liked the fact that despite the very first meeting, Manu was able to assess that about us and went to every detail of the process from the get go – Contingencies, Sample of Home Inspection report, what sections to pay special attention to, offer and bidding process, Appraisal process, flood zones etc. All in the very first meeting with our two children (5 and 1)! She also understood our personal preferences, my distance to work, school districts, distance to schools, local market for day to day needs and we immediately felt that she was thinking like us and had immense local knowledge to help our decision making process. We shortlisted zip codes which would satisfy all our criteria within our budget and started our “visiting open house” stage.
When we started going for open houses, she would accompany us, take feedback for our likes and dislikes and help us shorten our shortlist. Many times we felt like we wanted another look at the house privately before we placed the offer and Manu would arrange for the keys in a short notice. There were also instances of craziness when we couldn’t quite make up our mind until almost the offer deadline and in one instance Manu persuaded the seller agent to stall for couple more hours as we had just made up our mind that we would like to place a bid (yes! We were not easy customers at all)
Eventually, one thing that I think really worked in favor of us with Manu is that she was very quick to establish rapport with the selling agents. We proudly own a home today (July’17) in Santa Clara because one of the seller agents in this area called up Manu (as we had bid and lost on one of her houses before) and offered her to show us one of her upcoming listings before it opened up for market. We liked the house and closed it “off market” which is rare in current situations. Even though the deal was off market, Manu was very diligent that our interests were represented well right up to the end of the close of escrow.
